Today's Agenda

1) Troop Withdrawal from Afghanistan:  On CNN last Sunday, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Biden's decision to w/draw from Afghanistan was one of two bad options---the other was to stay longer.  She predicts the Taliban will overrun the Afg. government in near term and Islamic terrorism will expand rapidly in the region.    What is our plan? 

2)  Is US Embassy in Kabul still safe and can it function effectively?  On April 27, State Dept ordered the immediate mandatory departure of all non-essential US Embassy staff.  Our short term goal should be to help issue visas to  Afghans who helped the US in the long war....so said Sec. of State Blinken.  What does that mean?.   

3)   Taiwan and Chinese Chips:   Besides it being a model of democracy in Asia, --- while being claimed by Communist China as part of their empire, ---Taiwan is the world's leading producer of microchips.  So if Taiwan was invaded by mainland China, what would be the impact on world supply of these chips?  Would this bring US industry to a stop?
 

4) Is Pakistan serious about stopping Islamic terrorists?   They announced in January new charges for arrest of two major 'terrorists' who have been living inside Pakistan openly for years, often in close support with Pakistan military.  Do these arrests mean anything has changed under Prime Minister Imran Khan?
