Will China buy Natural Gas from Iran?, Russian Human Rights group 'Team 29' being shut down, Iran's view of the Taliban Takeover of Afghanistan
Retired US Diplomat to 5 different nations David Hunter shares his knowledge, passion, interest, and experience.
Today's Agenda
1) Will China buy Natural Gas from Iran? The Wall Street Journal reported July 14th a worldwide surge in demand for natural gas. Asia and particularly China are leading this. Much is liquified natural gas (LNG) including some from USA. But Iran has a huge supply, w/ the world's second largest gas reserves after Russia. Will China risk US sanctions to buy gas from Iran?
2) Iran's view of the Taliban Takeover of Afghanistan: We usually focus on the US position in regard to a Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, or on Pakistan's long-term support for the Taliban as it's way of offsetting threats of Greater Pashtunistan movement. But we should remember that Afghanistan shares a long border w/ Iran. And Iran has long historic ties to Afghanistan. So what is their view of the coming Talibanization of Afghanistan?
3) Russian Human Rights group 'Team 29' being shut down: The legal experts in Russia who seek to defend human rights and aid those accused of 'state terrorism' by Putin's lawless judicial system, are now being shut down, w/ threats they are a 'terror organization'. What's going on?
4) Who Pays for COVID Hospital Bills? We are hearing that 99% of those now being hospitalized in US w/ COVID are not vaccinated. And many are younger, aged 30-50 and requiring weeks in critical care. That is a very expensive treatment, which could have been prevented w/ a simple 'jab' of vaccine. So if this willful negligence, or careless behavior, who should pay?
